Alumnifi, the presenting sponsor of the Rocket Classic, reached out to me to create a custom illustration for a 16×20 canvas print. The artwork was displayed in their booth throughout all four days of the Rocket Classic, making it an incredible opportunity to have my work showcased during one of Detroit's biggest golf events.
The concept behind this design, which we ended up calling 313 Fairways, was to blend iconic Detroit landmarks and elements with the game of golf. Front and center are two characters walking with their golf bags, while the background is filled with recognizable Detroit landmarks and details inspired by the Rocket Classic. Like all of my work, the project began as a hand-drawn line sketch before being brought to life with color, texture, and detail to create the final illustration.

My two favorite details in this piece are the Spirit of Detroit holding the Rocket Classic trophy and a golf ball featuring the Alumnifi logo, as well as the iconic Detroit Fist holding a golf club. These small touches helped blend Detroit's identity with the game of golf and added a fun, unique personality to the overall illustration.
The artwork was used across a variety of pieces, including coasters, T-shirts, signs, pillows, and, of course, the 16×20 canvas print. It was incredibly rewarding to see the design brought to life across so many different applications.
I'm incredibly grateful that Alumnifi and I had the opportunity to collaborate on a project like this. Seeing the positive response to the artwork throughout the tournament was amazing. I'm thankful I was able to play a small part in the Rocket Classic, and it's a project I'll always be proud of. Check out the video below!
