What Golf Means to Me
I obviously was not the only one who jumped into golfing over covid, the game took off to new extremes around that time. However, the first time I went out I instantly fell in love with it and could not stay away. The calmness of being outdoors with no distractions is what I enjoy most about the game. It's like an escape from the craziness of work and everything outside of it. It’s the one place where I can step away from the noise of everyday life, breathe in the fresh air, and be present. Also, getting together with friends and playing 18 is unbeatable. The highs and lows of the game are unbelievable as well. It's almost as if you can go out and play your best round one day, then the next day have your worst round. It keeps you level and I think that is something I also love about it. It’s a blend of challenge and creativity, discipline and freedom.
Golf reminds me to embrace imperfection and keep striving for improvement, both on the course and off. I find that golf inspires my designs in a way. I often design and keep imperfections, trying to keep my eraser away. I also try to always improve on my designs, whether it be a new style or a new approach.
Can't wait for the summer. This winter has felt way too long.
Cheers,
Owen
