My new painting

The Concept
This piece reflects the beauty of golf and the endless variety the game has to offer. I've always been fascinated by how golf can be played across so many different landscapes, each with its own unique character. Within this painting are ten individual scenes, each highlighting a different element of nature. Some feature bright blue skies and coastal views, while others are set in the desert, near mountain ranges, or surrounded by forests and water. Together, these scenes celebrate the diverse environments that make golf such a special game.
I wanted this piece to stay true to my style—the way I naturally create art. I leaned into bold outlines, bright colors, and a playful, hand-drawn feel.
The Process
Obviously, this piece started with a blank canvas. I began by painting each individual square and then applying a second coat to make the colors more vibrant and consistent. Once the paint had fully dried, I went back through every section with a black marker, outlining the details and bringing each golf scene to life. The outlines helped create the bold, hand-drawn style that is a big part of my artwork.
This piece was an extremely challenging process because it really tested my patience. When I'm drawing, I'm used to seeing instant gratification as the artwork develops right in front of me. With painting, however, I had to constantly stop and wait for layers to dry before moving on to the next step. It forced me to slow down, trust the process, and focus on each section individually. In the end, that extra time and attention helped make the final piece feel much more polished and intentional.

STEPPING OUT OF MY COMFORT ZONE
What made this so challenging is that I have not painted in so long. I did a small piece in January, but it was nothing like this. This took over 13 hours to complete, and I did it all in one day. Once you start, it's hard to stop, lol.
However, I felt it was necessary to start stepping out of my comfort zone and tapping into mediums that I haven't used very often. Technically, I'm a designer, as I went to the College for Creative Studies, where I studied Industrial Design. But I've tapped into everything, including website design, photography, logo design, graphic design, painting, drawing, videography, social media, and pretty much every art form you can name. I want to be great at all of them.
While I'm clearly not the best at any one of these disciplines, I feel it is necessary to continue working at all of them because I know it will benefit my skill set and make me a better, more well-rounded artist.
I really think the moral of this painting is that you can't be scared to try something new or tap into something unfamiliar. Everything I've done since starting this brand has been new to me, besides drawing, which I've been doing since I was a kid.
Like I've mentioned in previous blogs, I had zero experience with clothing, zero experience designing websites, and zero experience with photography. But they were all things I was determined and motivated to learn. What Rossi Golf has become is something I never could have envisioned in just two years.
Being able to create this much work and produce this many designs has been incredibly special to me. It's crazy to think that I've probably created over 400 designs in the last two years, and I honestly don't think I'm anywhere close to creating my best work yet.
You always have to start somewhere, though, and this painting is a perfect example of that mindset. It's a reminder to keep learning, keep experimenting, and keep challenging yourself creatively. I hope this piece is just the beginning of something even bigger.
I’m always trying to find new ways to combine golf and art, and this painting was a reminder that the best ideas usually
come from simply challenging myself to make something new.
